A regular review of the Noise Bylaw is being conducted by the City. A Noise Bylaw Review report containing proposed changes to the bylaw was submitted to the Administrative Policies Committee on September 8. The Committee deferred the report to allow for additional public consultation, particularly related to noise from sports fields.
Proposed changes are available online for comment until Thursday, Nov. 10 at 4:30 p.m. Send your comments to Greg McLean, licensing and enforcement to:

The last review of the bylaw took place in 2004 when the bylaw was harmonized. The review includes minor housekeeping items to help provide consistency in wording with other bylaws that have been reviewed or amended.
Staff also reviewed sections of the bylaw that have been identified by the community as being either too restrictive or not restrictive enough and is proposing changes to how various types of noise is regulated.
