Friends, Neighbours & Colleagues,
On December 19, 2016 I formally resigned from my role of Councillor for the Countryside District in the City of Kingston in order to pursue a new employment opportunity as Manager of Economic Development with Frontenac County.
This was a difficult decision, as serving as the representative for Countryside has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of my life.
My new opportunity at the County of Frontenac will allow me to continue to help the rural community, but I will not be able to fulfill the duties of this new position and maintain the responsibilities of city councillor.
I want to extend my sincere appreciation to the Mayor, to my fellow councillors, and to the city staff for all of their hard work and their personal support. It has been an honor to work with all of them.
Most of all, I want to thank my neighbours, friends, and family in Countryside. You welcomed me into your homes, shared your thoughts and aspirations for a better community, and brought to my attention so much of what makes our area a beautiful and an essential part of Kingston. I carry wonderful memories with me, and though my work will be devoted to a different area of government, my home and heart remain here in Countryside.
I know this choice may come as a surprise to many of you, and if you have any concerns, questions or want to learn more about my decision, feel free to get in touch. I can be reached by phone at (613) 876-7253 or via email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
While the Countryside Council seat sits vacant, the Mayor's office will handle any issues or concerns from Countryside District. Residents can contact his office at email@example.com or 613-546-4291 ext. 1400.
